All this hysteria, irrationality and panicking by both sides of the mainstream media against the opposing political candidate has really messed up people's perceptions and as usual....done on purpose to distract the masses from their socioeconomic issues and how the system itself is to blame.
First of all, 5 points for the use of "niggling". When I hear the "Putin will just march into Poland" shtick, I ask why he (as if "he" has unilateral control of the military) didn't do this the past 20 years of his presidency? But logic and common sense gets me nowhere.
I'm afraid that anyone who has served in any branch of the Imperial military, be it as peripheral as the Czech one, is already too far gone. Don't feel too bad.
It would have been around 1980 he was in the Czechoslovak army, well before the country got NATOised. The too far-goneness is just a result of being pickled in anti-Russian media for 30+ years 😞

Insofar as I have an opinion of Putin it's based on listening to him speak, and he comes across as intelligent and considered, just like Lavrov and Zakharova.
The western political and media class is so obsessed with making everyone hate him because he refuses to roll over and give the globalists whatever they want, because that's all they've ever done. Putin was KGB and he's a lawyer, and he doesn't take shit but he's very polite about it. They hate that!

Which dissidents do you mean? A lot of people that our media label 'dissidents' would just be plain 'criminals' if they weren't promoting regime change in Russia. Like a certain A Navalny, who was barely known in Russia but was talked up like a contender to Putin in western media.
That term 'anti-trans' makes it sound like a person hates trans people, but really the opposite is true. I think it's insane that we allow people, let alone children, to mutilate themselves like that but hey, neoliberalism ftw!
Wikipedia is a highly biased source for all things Russia-related, but even assuming that the OCPW report was completely unbiased (have you heard about their investigation into the Douma 'chemical attack' that was the US's reason for invading Syria? Aaron Mate has done loads of good work on that) and Navalny was poisoned how they said he was - why would everyone assume Putin was behind it? Navalny made enemies when he was investigating corruption in Russia, and we shouldn't discount the possibility that western agencies might have arranged it, just to say Putin did it. The media sure went with that story.
There's a whole narrative around Russian poisonings, like Litvinenko and the Skripals, but when you look more deeply into any one of them, you come up with a whole lot of media stories saying that Russia was suspected of doing it, but very little in the way of concrete evidence. It really is one of those things that can turn you into a string-and-pinboard conspiracy theorist!
